Police beat

Hinsdale police distributed the following reports April 25.

DUI arrests

• Richard J. Leuser, 46, 2838 Home Ave., Berwyn, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured vehicle, disobeying a stop sign, failure to signal when required, possession of open alcohol by a driver and driving on the wrong side of the road at 1:39 p.m. April 19 in the 300 block of South Elm Street after police were dispatched to vehicle crashes at Sixth and Park streets and in the 300 block of South Elm Street. He was charged and released to appear in court.

• Otoniel Rodriguez, 45, 20457 Catalpa Court, Crest Hill, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper parking on the roadway at 4:33 a.m. April 23 at County Line Road and 57th Street after being observed asleep at the wheel stopped at the intersection. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Reckless driving arrest

Abdullah K. Hasan, 18, 15124 Huntington Court, Orland Park, was arrested for speeding more than 35 mph over the posted limit, reckless driving and failure to signal at 11:10 p.m. April 21 in the 700 block of West 55th Street after being clocked traveling at 60 mph over the posted limit. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Suspected DUI for drugs

A driver stopped for improper stopping 5:03 a.m. April 24 in the 10 block of West Fifth Street was observed to be under the influence. The suspect submitted blood and urine samples for testing and was released, with charges pending the results of lab tests.

Purses stolen

Two purses were reported stolen from patients at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale Hospital, 120 N. Oak St. The first occurred between 9 a.m. April 18 and 3 p.m. April 20. Several unauthorized charges were reported on the victim’s credit cards. The second incident occurred between 9 a.m. and noon April 22. An unauthorized charge was reported on the victim’s credit card that did not go through.

Trespass to vehicle

A suspect was observed on surveillance video entering an unlocked vehicle at 2:16 p.m. April 23 in the 10 block of East Hinsdale Avenue. He was described as white male wearing a black jacket and blue pants. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

Identity thefts reported

• The identity of a resident of the 1100 block of Old Mill Road was used to open a credit card on March 26. The incident was reported April 18.

• The identity of resident of the 400 block of East Sixth Street was used to open a credit card account and a cell phone account on April 14.
