Hinsdale legacies - The home at 222 E. Sixth St. was built as a Queen Anne in 1892 for John Charles Fremont Merrill but remodeled in the 1940s to its current classical revival style. The home was featured in "Hinsdale the Beautiful: Gem of Chicago Suburbs," published by Campbell's Illustrated Journal in November 1897.
