James Lawson Davidson III of Indian Head Park passed away June 10, 2023.
Jim, 83, was born and raised in Marshall, Mich., where he graduated high school with honors. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Wabash College and an MBA in marketing from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy as lieutenant (junior grade) for four years on the USS Cowell DD-547, followed by a career in marketing and advertising with Alberto-Culver, Cunningham & Walsh, Bender Browning, and Euro Taitham.
He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in Kane County and at the Hinsdale Historical Society for many years. After retirement, Jim started his own handyman business and had great success. He loved golf, sports car racing, making stained glass windows, and woodworking.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother, John Davidson.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Davidson; his sister, Deborah (Kent) Fisher; and his sister-in-law, Holly (Charles) Self.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside, until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Lyonsville Cemetery in Indian Head Park.
