Ryan Pierce McCabe of Hinsdale passed away June 9, 2023.
Ryan was creative, making things out of wood, clay and metal. His smile warmed the rooms he entered. He was a certified welder and made his own forge.
When Ryan wasn't making jewelry or forging metal, he spent time devoting his love to the many dogs at a shelter where he worked. Ryan was also an avid outdoorsman and as a youngster spent many golden summers at the family's lake in Minocqua with his parents, sister and dog. He was a thoughtful observer of wildlife, becoming an Eagle Scout and honing his skills at a wilderness center in Utah.
Ryan enjoyed rock music and was a skilled musician. Music brought him peace, and he was a multi-instrumentalist, playing the piano, saxophone, cello and guitar.
Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Pierce; his sister, Maggie; his cousin, Kevin; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Vera McCabe; his longtime partner, Kathy Orlow; and his friends, extended family and dogs.
