Dr. George C. Bonertz, 89, a longtime Hinsdale resident, passed away July 11, 2023, with his family by his side.
He was born in 1934 in Stevens Point, Wis.
Dr. Bonertz was an obstetrics and gynecology specialist in Hinsdale for more than 40 years. He was a pillar in the medical community as well as his beloved Golfview Hills community. George found much happiness in helping his friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara C .; his children, David Bonertz and Mark Steven (Petra Benn); his step-children, Susan E. Lambke and Karen E. Barnard; and his grandchildren, Kate, Holly, Cooper, Emily and Claire.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Roberta Ann.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, in Zimmerman Park on Lakeside Drive in Golfview Hills.
