Phyllis T. Zimmerman, née Massi, 81, of Darien, passed away Sept. 13, 2023.
Phyllis held many jobs during her lifetime, the longest of which was for 23 years at McDonald's Corp. in Oak Brook. In addition, she served on several boards, including the Ronald McDonald House near the University of Chicago. She remained very active in her retirement, starting her own business, taking college-level classes and playing pickleball. But most of all, Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her friends, relatives and especially her grandchildren, shopping and dining in restaurants.
She is survived by her sons, Frank (Katie) and Tom (Judy) of Hinsdale; her grandchildren, Frank, Jack, Adam and Tom; her siblings, Janet (Jack) Schultz and Frank (Deb) Massi; her niece and nephews, John Schultz, Laure Massi and Frank (Shayna) Massi; and her great-nieces, Mirabel and Sybil Massi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice (Pope) Massi.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at Old St. Patrick's Church, 700 W. Adams St., Chicago.
