Courtney Seaman

Courtney Koranda Seaman passed away Dec. 14, 2023, in a fatal aviation accident, together with her devoted husband, Gregg, while returning to their San Diego home from the East Coast.

Courtney, 48, was raised in Hinsdale and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School. She completed her studies at DePaul University with a degree in psychology. She worked in the real estate industry for several years before moving to San Diego, where she became a successful real estate agent who was consistently honored as "Top Agent for Client Satisfaction" by San Diego Magazine.

Courtney loved animals above all else and had made regular donations to animal rescue organizations as well as fostering baby kittens and advocating for disadvantaged pets wherever she went.

There are no words to express the loss of this beautiful, kind and caring soul who was always there for those in need, a radiant light who brought smiles on the faces of those who knew her, and the very best daughter and sister one could ask for.

Everyone was drawn to her bright energy and humor. She spent her life in acts of giving, selflessly anticipating what she could do to make other people happy. Just her presence brought joy to the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kevin James Koranda; and her grandparents.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Joanne Roney; her father, Neil (Juanita) Koranda; her sister, Kimberly (John) Eyen; her brother, Christian (Shelley) Koranda; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in San Diego.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal rescue or welfare organization of choice.
