Carolyn Genevieve Tweedie, 85, a longtime Hinsdale resident, has passed away.
Carolyn was born in 1938 in Chicago. Carolyn married David Tweedie in 1974 in Hometown, and the couple had two sons.
Carolyn was very kind and loving person, always willing to help those in need. This led her to volunteering to help her community. She was very giving of her time to a several area organizations, including AYSO, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and the Hinsdale Caucus. Carolyn was awarded the Silver Beaver award from the Boy Scouts of America council for her hard work, dedication and many years of service.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, David Tweedie; her sons, Brett (Ashli) and Bart Tweedie; and her grandchildren, Henry, Layne, Jackson, Leila and Margot.
Visitation is at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Fairmont Willow Hills Cemetery in Willow Springs.
