Hinsdale Village Board
Among other business at their May 21 meeting, trustees:
• voted unanimously to prohibit electric bikes with more than 750 watts in the village and made other changes to the ordinance relative to the use of bicycles, electric bicycles and personal mobility devices. For more details, read the May 30 issue of The Hinsdalean.
• discussed increasing water rates by 3.525 percent to match the increase the city of Chicago is charging the DuPage Water Commission, from which the village buys its water. If approved June 11, the new rate would show up on July 1 water bills. The average resident would see an increase of $8.80 on the bill, which is sent every two months.
• listened as Trustee Michelle Fisher gave an update on plans to renovate the front patio at the Hinsdale Memorial Building, a project first discussed last year as part of the village’s 150th anniversary celebration. The village hopes to begin work on the project after Labor Day and have it completed this fall.
• voiced support for an outdoor dining permit for Brasi’s Pizzeria at 34 E. Hinsdale Ave. Trustees expect to take an official vote June 11.
• awarded a construction contract for renovations for the Burns Field tennis courts and basketball court renovation to J&R 1st in Asphalt in an amount not to exceed $228,165.
• voted to approve a preservation incentive agreement for property at 317 E. First St.
