Tom Berns

Thomas Francis Berns, 80, of Lake Mills, Wis., formerly of Hinsdale, passed away in Tucson on May 4, 2024, while under hospice care. He was surrounded by all his family, including grandchildren, who traveled from Mesa, Albuquerque, Madison and Portland to be with him. Tom fought a hard battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Tom was born in Blue Island in 1943 and grew up in La Grange, one of eight siblings. In 1986, he married Wendy Mae Butler. They lived in Hinsdale until they moved to Lake Mills in 2002. Their children, Greg (Christine) Berns, Christopher (Andrea) Berns, Emily Berns (Cash) Davis and Jeff Reznikoff, along with seven grandchildren, now hail from all parts of the country.

Tom would have been 81 years old on June 2, and Wendy and Tom had been married for more than 38 years.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held in Wisconsin in early September.
