Elmer F. Hass Jr.

Elmer F. Hass Jr., 89, of Clarendon Hills, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away on June 20, 2024, after a courageous three-year fight with cancer.

Elmer was one of four children of Elmer Hass Sr. and Verna (Datta) Hass.

Elmer was a longtime resident of Hinsdale. He built and operated Elmer & Sons Auto Center in Clarendon Hills. He was a hard worker as well as a great role model and mentor to his children and many others. He was the loving partner of Josephine Zelinski for 32 years.

Elmer was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Jeffries) Hass; his son, Christopher Hass; his brother, Martin Hass; his sister, Marion Parry; his brother-in-law, Donald Jeffries; and his grandson, Brandon Regan.

He is survived by his eight children, Brenda (Michael) Miskiewicz, David (Kristine) Hass, Cary (Carleen) Hass, Bradley (Brenda) Hass, Diana (Marius) Kucinas, Barry (Jennifer) Hass, Tim (Lynn) Zelinski and Kathy (Page) Ayers; his 21 grandchildren, Megan, Jenna, Barb (Rob), Sarah, Darius (Gabby), Laura, Drew (Michele), Vaughn, Christine (Victor), Julia, George, Emilie, Lily, Liam, Jessica (Edward), Sarah, Troy (Lucy), Nick (fiancée Elizabeth), Leslie, Lauren (Dayne) and Abby; his 15 great-grandchildren, Austin, Kiana, Danny, Emma, Madison, Jensen, Marley, Mavis, Elijah, Edward III, Ellanor, Lilly, Leo, Charlotte and Graham; his sister, Shirley Cole; his brother-in-law, Anne Dvorak; and many nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

A funeral service was held June 26 at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home in Willowbrook.
