The Hinsdale Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 900 block of South Elm Street Wednesday, Aug. 14. The home's occupants were outside, having been alerted by smoke detectors, when the fire department arrived on the scene. Smoke was showing from a garage window, and firefighters quickly gained access to the garage and put out the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters from Clarendon Hills, Western Springs, Downers Grove, Oak Brook, Westmont and Pleasantview responded to assist with the fire, along with smoke removal and overhaul. (Jim Slonoff photos)
