HINSDALE MAN EARNS DEGREE

William Bush of Hinsdale has graduated magna cum laude from The Citadel with a bachelor’s degree in business and finance. He also received the SoCon commissioner’s medal for tennis for earning a 4.0 grade point average his senior year.

COLLEGE STUDENT ON HONOR ROLL

Tyler Dean of Hinsdale was named to the 2023-24 South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll and was a National Division 2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards Student Athlete with a 4.0 for his sophomore year as an active baseball player and Dean’s List student at Limestone University.

Company selects HINSDALE STORE

Peak Running in Hinsdale has been named the only Chicago-area store — and one of only two nationwide — to carry the limited edition release of Topo Athletic’s Chicago Specter 2.

“When I was first introduced to Topo Athletic eight years ago, everything about their shoes made perfect sense — from the zero drop to the natural shape and the way they cradled the heel and instep,” store owner and avid runner Tiffany Cruickshank said. “Being selected once again as the only local retailer to carry the CHICAGO Specter 2 is both an honor and a dream come true. I’m beyond excited for our runners to experience (and see) these shoes firsthand.”

HJWC FUNDRAISER, year A success

The Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club raised more than $30,000 for charitable grants and doated books for Bernie’s book bank at its Summer Soiree: Sunsets in Santorini event.

Last year the club raised more than $301,000 and awarded $286,942 in granst to 21 local charities and $15,000 in scholarships to four local high school seniors. Members also purchased and wrapped 288 Christmas gifts for 84 families in need and completed more than 550 hours of community service with 17 area nonprofits.
