Meeting roundup

Hinsdale Village Board

Among other business Tuesday, trustees:

• approved a contract with HGA for $50,000 to create a space utilization plan for the Memorial Building, including an assessment of the building’s mechanical systems. With HCS Family Services having now moved out of the building and into its new location at 22 N. Elm St., officials stated this was a good time to conduct such an evaluation.

• agreed to hire Baxter and Woodman Consulting Engineers to conduct a study of the village’s water system for $47,300. The study will focus on reducing the 20 percent of water that officials say is purchased from the DuPage Water Commission but not billed by the village due to system leakage, inaccurate water meters, irrigation, fire department use and other factors.

• approved the addition of four properties within the Historic Overlay District to the Historically Significant Structures Property List. They are 743 W. Chestnut St., 425 E. Eighth St., 514 S. Garfield Ave. and 314 N. Lincoln St. Inclusion on the list may make homeowners eligible for incentives to help with exterior improvements, the construction of a building addition or other historic preservation projects.

• accept a proposal from Steiner Electric Co. of Itasca for street light pole replacements in the amount of $27,488.01.
