3-ON-3 TOURNEY LISTS WINNERS

More than 90 teams competed in The Community House’s 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Aug. 17.

Twelve teams earned championships and two individuals won contests at the event.

DOLEHIDE REACHES GRAND SLAM SEMIS

Caroline Dolehide of Hinsdale reached a career high of nine in the Women’s Tennis Association’s doubles rankings following a championship at the Canadian Open on Aug. 12 alongside partner and fellow American Desiree Krawczyk.

The duo, seeded three in the tournament, defeated the top-seeded tandem in a thrilling final 7-6, 3-6, 10-7 to claim the title.

Dolehide and Krawczyk have had a memorable 2024, reaching the semifinals at both the French Open and Wimbledon. Dolehide is now a six-time Grand Slam semifinalist, having previously made it to the penultimate stage at the U.S. Open in 2019 and 2022 and at Wimbledon in 2021 and 2023.

PROSPECT ADAMS SCORES HONOR

Minor League Baseball’s Luke Adams of Hinsdale was named the Midwest League’s Player of the Month for July. Adams, who plays for the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in the Milwaukee Brewers system, led the league in RBIs, walks, on-base percentage and OPS during the month.

The 12th round pick of the Brewers in the 2022 draft led all levels of full-season minor league players in on-base percentage for the season at .452 and in being hit by pitches — 31 times in 88 games.

COLLIGNON CAPS vHISTORIC SEASON

Yale University lacrosse player Jenna Collignon of Hinsdale was named Third Team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association. The junior attacker’s 67 goals this past spring tied for the second-best single-season total in Yale history.

he also led the Bulldogs in points (71) and draw controls (74) en route to earning the Bowditch Award as team MVP.

Collignon, who helped lead Yale to the most wins (17) in school history and to the NCAA quarterfinal round, had already earned honorable mention All-America honors from ILWomen and USA Lacrosse this year and was a unanimous first team All-Ivy League pick for the second year in a row.

ALLEN LANDS NEW HOME IN NFL

Super Bowl champion Brian Allen of Hinsdale has been signed by the Cleveland Browns. The center is entering his seventh NFL season out of Michigan State University.

Originally selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Allen has appeared in 50 career games with 32 starts and was the starting center for the victorious Rams in Super Bowl LVI. He appeared as a reserve in five games last season.
