John "Jack" Parker Cunningham Jr., 83, of Burr Ridge, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away Sept. 7, 2024, at home with his family.
John battled cancer valiantly with grace and dignity until the end.
He was born in Chicago but was raised in Garden City, N.Y. John attended St. Peter's Preparatory School, where he was the champion fencer. He graduated from Gettysburg College and received his MBA from Adelphi University.
He worked in many sales capacities until his retirement at 81.
John loved people and travel and enjoyed working with his many customers. He was a voracious reader and especially enjoyed historical literature.
John is survived by his wife, Marsha; his daughter, Julia (Patrick); and many nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne; and his sister, Lois.
A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept 20, at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook.
