Martin Herbert "Cappy" Myers, a longtime Hinsdale resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sept. 5, 2024.
He had an extensive background in corporate leadership and worked as a Realtor with Adams and Myers Realtors in Hinsdale. Martin and Lorry were devout Catholics and had two private audiences with the pope. Martin was an active parishioner for more than 50 years at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Hinsdale. He is an alumnus of St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.
In his leisure, Martin was an avid pilot, a passionate runner, a skilled golfer and an accomplished skier that led him to travel the world. He was a social member at Ruth Lake Country Club in Hinsdale, and a passionate owner of boxers for many years.
Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores "Lorry," whom he was married to for 75 years.
Martin is survived by his children, Rita, Marty (Karen), Susie, Michael (Nancy) and Christy; his grandchildren, Alexandra (George), Lauren, Hilary, Marty Lee, Lyndsay, Michael (MaryLou), Anna, Charles and Katherine; and his great-grandchildren, Amelia, Ella, and Ava.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lily; and his sister, Bette.
Mass and burial will be private at Martin's request.
