Ann Rose Schenck, 86, of Burr Ridge, a former longtime resident of Clarendon Hills died Oct. 1, 2024.
Ann was born in Chicago in 1938 to Richard and Katherine Rose. Ann lived most of her life in Clarendon Hills, first with her parents and siblings, then with her husband and children. She graduated from Hinsdale Township High School in 1956, then earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Northwestern University in 1961. She and Peter met at Northwestern and married in 1961.
Service was central to Ann's life. She was a lifelong Presbyterian, serving the Community Presbyterian Church in many ways. Ann also served as a Clarendon Hills village trustee in the 1980s and 1990s. She was a member of the Clarendon Hills chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, Ruth Lake Country Club, the Faithful Circle Quilters and Centennial Quilters guilds, and the County Line Questers.
A diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs since 1945, she relished the team's World Series in 2016.
She is survived by her children, Tom, Jeff, Kathy (Jim) Price and Peg (Mark) Boutchia; her grandchildren, Emily, Nora, Lindsay, James, Matthew, Brook and Anna; her sister, Jean (David) Evans; her brother, Jim (Diane) Rose; her sister-in-law, Joan Schenck Leavitt; her niece, Robyn Rose; and her nephews, Drew and Matt Evans and Hussein and Karim Ibish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter H. Schenck.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Community Presbyterian Church, 39 N. Prospect Ave., Clarendon Hills.
