Car chase ends in two arrests, one gun charge

Two Georgia men are in custody, one on a gun charge, after leading Hinsdale police on a chase last month.

According to the police department, at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 23 a Hinsdale detective unit observed two subjects acting suspiciously near the Chase Bank ATM at 400 E. Ogden Ave. After the pair left in a vehicle with Georgia plates, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspects then allegedly led police on a pursuit that eventually ended in the parking garage of the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont. The two subjects tried to flee on foot but were arrested nearby.

Tyler Minix, 27, last known address 1611 Skyline Lane Northeast, Atlanta, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a firearm because a loaded Glock pistol was reportedly found in his possession at the time of arrest. Minix was also arrested on warrants out of Georgia for theft, burglary and obstruction.

Montese Amiel Blake, 29, 4258 Waldrop Hills Terrace, Decatur, was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding.

Both are being held in the DuPage County Jail after a detention petition by prosecutors.
